DISCOVER THE CULTURAL HERITAGE IN "DUONG LAM ANCIENT VILLAGE"

During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh taught: "Our people must know our history/To understand the origin of our country Vietnam." In addition to math, technology or science lessons, activities to experience Vietnamese culture and history will be valuable lessons to nurture children's personality and love for their homeland and country.

AGAINST THE FLOW OF TIME OPENS THE GATE OF HISTORY

On October 8 and 9, grade 4 students of Nguyen Sieu Primary School had the opportunity to participate in an experiential learning session at Duong Lam Ancient Village - one of the most ancient Vietnamese villages in Vietnam, where many unique traditional cultural features of the nation are preserved.

This is not only a hands-on experience but also a journey that takes children back in time, turning back the pages of heroic history, where stories about heroes like Phung Hung and Ngo Quyen come alive through each vivid story.

In the peaceful space of the Northern countryside, with ancient houses built from laterite and curved roofs that have been imbued with the mark of time, students are immersed in the simple, rustic life of the local people. Every step on the red brick road, every ancient house that the children pass by opens up pages of memories of old rural life, where the simple but profound beauty of Vietnamese culture remains intact.

CULINARY CULTURE EXPERIENCE - UNIQUE FEATURES WITH ANCIENT FLAVORS

Not only stopping at exploring historical sites, grade 4 students also experienced interesting practical activities, associated with traditional culinary culture. They made banh troi and banh san by themselves, under the guidance of local artisans. The lovely little cakes not only contained the joy of creativity, but also a lesson in appreciating traditional values, demonstrating ingenuity and meticulousness in each stage.
 

REAL-LIFE TRIPS FOR CHILDREN TO UNDERSTAND AND LOVE ETHNIC CULTURE

The journey to explore Duong Lam Ancient Village is not only an experience, but also a bridge to help students understand more deeply about the past, about the long-standing cultural values ​​of the Vietnamese people. Those experiences will become unforgettable memories, while nurturing in them a love and respect for the culture and history of the country, thereby forming a sense of preserving and promoting national identity in the future.

In addition, the experiential learning session at Duong Lam Ancient Village not only helps children expand their knowledge of subjects such as History, Geography and Fine Arts, but is also an opportunity for them to practice important soft skills in life. Through group work, listening and note-taking activities, children are trained in the ability to interact, cooperate and respond flexibly in all situations. The practical lessons from the trip also help the children develop their thinking, discover more aspects of national cultural identity, and build pride in the heritage left by previous generations.

The trip ends, but the lessons and emotions that the children bring back will remain forever, as valuable luggage on the path to adulthood, discovery and continuation of national traditions.
