GRADE 3 STUDENTS EXPERIENCE AND DISCOVER PUPPETRY ART AT THE VIETNAM NATIONAL PUPPETRY THEATRE

On the morning of September 9, Grade 3 students from Nguyen Sieu Primary School participated in an experiential activity at the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre to learn about water puppetry—a traditional Vietnamese folk art form.
At the theatre, students visited the performance space, listened to an introduction to water puppetry, and enjoyed the "Fun Circus" show featuring various performances and interactive activities, such as animal animation, funny clowns, the Panda Bear family, dragon dances, the old couple catching ducks, and unpredictable magicians. They also had the opportunity to interact with artists and actors while discovering more fascinating details from behind the stage.
This activity was integrated with the Grade 3 curriculum. Through direct observation, listening, and hands-on participation, students gained rich material for their classroom lessons: retelling an activity in their own words, exploring the world of careers, observing puppet designs and movements in Fine Arts, and discovering a unique cultural feature of Hanoi.
Moving beyond the classroom into cultural and artistic spaces gives students the opportunity to learn through real-world observation and experience, broadening their understanding of traditional arts and theater-related professions.
The trip to the Vietnam National Puppetry Theatre brought Grade 3 students an engaging lesson filled with laughter, curiosity, and new discoveries.
