UNLOCK TECH POTENTIAL THROUGH ROBOTICS, SCRATCH PROGRAMMING & AI COURSES

News Thursday, 10/10/2024

In today’s rapidly evolving world, the need for both adults and children to be equipped with high-tech skills is growing rapidly. The most recent data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects that technology-related jobs will grow strongly from 2026 to 2030, based on previous trends. By 2033, STEM occupations, which include programming and other technology fields, are expected to grow by 10.4%, significantly outpacing the overall employment growth of 4% for all occupations.

As a result, many schools around the world have begun to incorporate programming and robotics into their core curriculum, recognizing that future jobs such as AI engineers, data analysts, and software developers will become increasingly common.

GLOBAL CITIZENS OF THE 21ST CENTURY

Children of the 21st century are growing up in a borderless world, where the concept of “global citizenship” is more relevant than ever. To meet the demands of the times, children need to be equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with comprehensive life skills, especially in areas such as language, technology, and global thinking.

The World Economic Forum (2020) report indicates that around 65% of children today will be working in jobs that do not yet exist, with strong impacts from technology and automation. This shows that learning programming and technology skills early on is extremely important to prepare children for the future.

In addition, teaching children programming and robotics from primary school will help them develop logical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills. According to many studies, children educated in STEM have the ability to access and adapt more quickly to future technological changes, which will be the foundation for them to become leaders in all fields.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

Robotics, Scratch Programming & AI is a typical curriculum in STEM education - integrating Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to help children realize their ideas on robots; thereby developing programming thinking skills and applying technological knowledge to solve practical problems in life.

OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENTS

At Nguyen Sieu Primary School, Robotics competitions are held regularly to create conditions for children to explore their potential in the field of robotics and technology. This is a playground that not only helps children develop their talents but also equips them with outstanding skills, ready to become global citizens of the 21st century.

In the 2024 school year, Nguyen Sieu Primary School won the SILVER PRIZE at the Primary School Robotics Competition with the theme "Hanoi - City for Peace". At the ROBOTICS ENJOY AI 2024 competition held on October 6, 5 representatives of Nguyen Sieu Primary School won 3 Effort Awards and 2 excellent teams entered the TOP 10, representing Vietnam to attend the international final round in Shanghai this coming December - a very proud achievement for the children.
